First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan participated in the “Silk Road” forum in Tbilisi
First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Gevorg Mantashyan participated in the “Silk Road” forum held on October 26 in Tbilisi. The primary objective of this year’s Silk Road Forum was to promote cooperation in the region and beyond, with the prospect of increased connectivity.
Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan presented the strategic directions of the Ministry in this regard at the panel discussion on the topic “Meaningful connectivity enabler for global growth” organized within the framework of the forum, he spoke about the importance of Internet access and securing digital infrastructures, made comments on the topics of digital society, artificial intelligence, and also told about the importance of the “Crossroad of Peace” project.
Within the framework of the forum, a wide range of issues were also discussed in order to discover new horizons of cooperation, such as: Understanding the role of the Middle Corridor, New architecture of East-West trade, Digital connectivity, Diversification in the energy sector, Tourism sustainability, Diversified investments for a sustainable future.
The event was organized with the support of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the visit, the Deputy Minister had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, as well as representatives of sectorial organizations. During the meetings, a number of issues related to the expansion of the bilateral cooperation agenda were discussed.
