Goal
“SpaceCamp” is a space-themed camp that gives young people the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the fields of astronomy, rocketry and space technology, enriching the stock of space knowledge.
The purpose of this educational program is to promote the development of the scientific potential of the state on the way to a knowledge-intensive industry and economy.
Description
The SpaceCamp program combines the theoretical study of astronautics and the main areas associated with it, with active recreation.
Lectures by the best specialists, stargazing and film screenings, model rocket workshops and launches are an integral part of the agenda.
The program is a unique opportunity for the general development and professional orientation of young people: it provides deep theoretical and practical knowledge, the opportunity for direct contact with specialists, an environment for meeting like-minded people, as well as inspiration and support on the path to choosing space professions.
In 2021, from August 28 to September 1, the program was held at the COAF SMART center in Lori, which was attended by high school students who received medals and diplomas of 1-3 degrees at international and republican Olympiads in physics, computer science, astrophysics and mathematics in 2020-2021 academic year, the best students of the Faculty of Robotics and Programming of the COAF Center, the best students of the “Armat” Javakhk group.
From July 27 to August 2, 2022, the 2nd scientific-educational meeting was held at the Military-Sports Lyceum after Monte Melkonyan in Dilijan, which was attended by young people from the regions of Armenia, the USA, Palestine, Georgia and the Russian Federation.
According to the results of the test task, the 100 best ones with the maximum points were selected from the 1000 young people who applied for participation.
Target group
The camp is designed for 15-18-year-old youths from Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora who are interested in astronautics and space research.
