Two new postage stamps dedicated to "Prominent Armenians. Sergey Parajanov's 100th birth anniversary"
On June 20, in the Sergey Parajanov Museum, two postage cards were redeemed, dedicated to "Prominent Armenians: Sergey Parajanov’s 125th birth anniversary."
The redemption ceremony was conducted by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff of the RA Prime Minister, Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister of the RA High Tech Ministry, Daniel Danielyan, Deputy Minister of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Arman Abrahamyan, the Deputy Chief Executive Director of "HayPost," Hovik Musayelyan, Chairman of the Armenian Philatelic Association, and Anahit Mikayelyan, Director of Sergey Parajanov Museum.
The first postage stamp illustrates the distinguished Armenian film director, screenwriter, master of collage, People's Artist of the ASSR and USSR Sergey Parajanov (1924-1990). The second stamp depicts the artist's collage "Variation Themes by Pinturicchio and Raphael" (1989). The stamps are engraved with inscriptions "SERGEY PARAJANOV" and "ARMENIAN FILM DIRECTOR" in Armenian and English.
The stamps also feature the UNESCO logo, as Sergey Parajanov's 100th birth anniversary is marked in UNESCO's Jubilee of Famous People and Important Events 2024-2025.
