The international conference \"Advancing social justice: the future of labor in the modern era\" was held in Armenia

 

On December 18, Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Robert Khachatryan participated in the opening of the international conference entitled "Advancing social justice: the future of labor in the modern era". The conference was held at the presidential and was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

During the event, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Gilbert Houngbo, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan made opening remarks.

In his speech, the Prime Minister of the RA welcomed ILO's decision to hold the conference in Armenia and expressed hope that effective discussions will take place during the event and solutions to problems related to the sector will be found.
"Issues related to work and labor relations, of course, contain great challenges and, as it is said in such cases, also great opportunities. After all, it should be noted that work is the factor underlying civilization and development. According to this logic, work, its logic and content, its relations change significantly over time. Of course, the winners are those countries and societies that manage to address the emerging challenges and contradictions," said Nikol Pashinyan.

A number of thematic discussions took place within the framework of the conference. Davit Sahakyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA acted as the moderator for the panel discussion on the topic "Challenges of the developing labor market and the social justice".

The international conference entitled "Advancing Social Justice: the Future of Labor in the modern era" was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the RA and under the chairmanship of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
