Within the framework of the UNIDO General Conference the Deputy Minister participated in several events, had meetings with UNIDO leaders
RA Deputy Minister of High-tech Industry Davit Sahakyan participated in the 20th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna.
Within the framework of the event, the Deputy Minister took part in the “Fair Globalization: Innovative Solutions for the Industry of Tomorrow” session. Reference was also made to the works aimed at the national strategy development of high-tech industry program and the road map for its implementation in Armenia, executed by UNIDO.
As a speaker, Davit Sahakyan participated in the thematic event “AIM Global: Inclusive AI – bridging the digital divide in industry and manufacturing”. The Deputy Minister presented RA government’s policy in the direction of artificial intelligence integration in governance, noted that AI and digital technologies contribute to the sustainable development of various industries.
Within the framework of the event, Davit Sahakyan held meetings with Gerd Müller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ciyong Zou, Deputy to the Director General and the Managing Director of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development of UNIDO, Solomiya Omelyan, Head of UNIDO’s Global Partnerships and External Relations Directorate, Chief of the Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia. The cooperation possibilities in the development of the high-tech sector in Armenia were discussed.
The General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) convenes every two years and brings together representatives of all member countries to discuss and decide on issues related to industrial development.
