Minister Robert Khachatryan participated in a round-table discussion on “The future of the IT sector: dialogue between the public and private sectors”
On November 18, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Robert Khachatryan took part in a round-table discussion on the topic “The Future of the IT Sector: Dialogue between Public and Private sectors”, dedicated to the draft law “On State Support for the High-Tech Sector” and adjacent bills.
Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Davit Sahakyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the RA Rafael Gevorgyan, General Director of “Enterprise Armenia” Fund Levon Ohanesyan, officials of the Ministry of Finance, State Revenue Committee, representatives of leading IT companies and expert community also participated in the event.
The Minister welcomed the participants of the event and spoke about the importance of the dialogue between public and private sectors on the new legislation of the IT sector.
Deputy Minister Davit Sahakyan presented the key provisions of the draft law “On State Support for the High-Tech Sector”.
During the meeting, the specifics of the new IT legislation, possible positive and negative effects were discussed. Representatives of state bodies emphasized that the purpose of the new legislation is to promote the further development of IT, and the Government of the Republic of Armenia is interested in strengthening cooperation with IT enterprises and the expert community in order to provide effective feedback and receive professional opinions and recommendations.
