Minister Robert Khachatryan visited the participants of “Space Camp 2023”
On August 6-12, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia is implementing the “Space Camp 2023” (#SpaceCamp2023) scientific-educational program at the Military and Sports College after Monte Melkonyan.
On August 8, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Robert Khachatryan visited the campers.
The meeting between the Minister and the campers took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere. The Minister presented the importance of space technologies for Armenia, noted that the progress of our country depends on the development of science and technology.
Robert Khachatryan referred to the first Armenian satellite, the need for specialists in the field of space activities, and the necessity for specialists dealing with the decoding and processing of photos taken from UAVs. The Minister is confident that in the future the participants of the “Space Camp 2023” will join the ranks of specialists who are in great demand for our country.
During the meeting, the campers asked the Minister many questions about space activities, satellite construction, programs implemented by the Ministry, and a number of other topics. During the interesting discussion, the participants also presented opinions and considerations about the space future of Armenia, told about their goals, ideas and plans, and touched on many topics related to the space.
Minister Khachatryan toured the workshops of the camp, where the participants divided into groups were carrying out practical works.
The participants of the camp presented to the Minister the results of the works already done: the processing of photos taken by them with UAVs, operative and archival data received from satellites, analyses, conclusions and recommendations.
The scientific-educational camp held by the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry for the 3rd year was unprecedented in the number of applications this year. Among the 1029 teenagers who applied for participation, according to the results of the test task, 107 who scored the maximum points were selected.
During the 7 days of the camp, lectures and practical work are held for the participants of “Space Camp 2023” on astronomy, remote earth observation technologies, geo-information technologies, satellite structure, subsystems.
In addition to lectures and sectoral workshops, campers are given hiking trips, national dance lessons, watching movies, interesting meetings and events.
