Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Mkhitar Hayrapetyan had a meeting with the representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Armenia Resident Mission.
Country Director of ADB Armenian Resident Mission Don Lambert first congratulated Mkhitar Hayrapetyan on his appointment to the position of Minister, then presented the programs implemented by ADB in Armenia, the existing and planned initiatives in the field of digitization.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan welcomed the guests and noted that the Ministry of High-Tech Industry is now at an important stage: the legislative package regulating the high-tech sector is underdeveloped, the works of national strategy development for the promotion of the IT sector has already started with the involvement of local and international partners.
During the meeting, the digitalization agenda of public services was discussed. In particular, the parties discussed the support proposals of ADB to the RA government in the digitalization of state services, the possibilities of providing result-driven financial resources. Participants of the meeting expressed readiness to continue active discussions after clarifying the scope of responsibility of all involved parties.
Don Lambert invited the Minister to attend the “Govtech 4 Impact World Congress” to be held in Madrid on March 21-23, which unites visionary leaders from across the world to tackle the most critical challenges faced by governments. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan thanked for the invitation and noted that he will participate in the conference if possible.
