Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the RA

Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the RA Eric De Muynck on April 9.

The Мinister welcomed the Ambassador and presented the main activity directions of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.

It was mentioned, that the Ministry is currently in the stage of the development of important documents: the development strategy of the high-tech industry of the RA and the legislative package for the promotion of high-tech and IT sectors, which will summarize the long-term vision of the development of Armenia's technological sector and the basis for the creation of a favorable ecosystem.

Eric De Muynck thanked for the reception and noted that the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of high technologies is among the priorities. In this context, in autumn 2023 the visit of the Economic Mission of the Kingdom of Belgium to Armenia was organized, within the framework of which Belgian and Armenian companies had the opportunity to meet and discuss the cooperation possibilities. The Ambassador expressed willingness to become a bridging link between Belgian private companies and Armenian state bodies for the possible participation in the exhibitions organized in Armenia.

During the meeting, the possibilities of developing bilateral relations in specific directions were discussed, particularly in the fields of engineering and space technologies, artificial intelligence.
