Minister Robert Khachatryan received the Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe

On December 16, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan received Tatiana Molchan, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Roel Janssens, Economic Affairs Officer in UN Economic Commission for Europe was also present at the meeting.

Robert Khachatryan welcomed guests and presented the history of the creation of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the areas of responsibility. He thanked Economic Commission for Europe for its continuous support, particularly emphasized the importance of "Innovation for sustainable development: Review of Armenia 2023" report prepared by the organization. Robert Khachatryan also talked about the cooperation with other international organizations on the elaboration of the strategy for the development of high-tech industry, noted that the UNECE report also will be used in this framework.

Tatiana Molchan highly appreciated the effective cooperation with the Ministry, spoke about the UNECE report and highlighted the willingness of the Economic Commission for Europe and various international partners to support the implementation of the recommendations mentioned in it.

Executive Secretary of UNECE also conveyed the willingness of Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to implement joint projects with Armenia in the fields of intellectual property and innovation.
