Gevorg Mantashyan welcomed the participants of the European Innovation Council Info Day event
On December 5, the European Innovation Council Info Day was held in Yerevan, during which the main directions of the European Innovation Council’s activities, interests and support mechanisms provided to companies offering innovative ideas were presented.
Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, had an opening remark, presenting the programs of the Ministry to create favorable conditions for the activity of innovative companies in Armenia. He emphasized the access to knowledge, finance, technology, which will help innovators using their talent to create products and enter the market.
The First Deputy Minister also highly appreciated the support of the European Commission, stressing that Armenia is a reliable partner for the European Union.
The European Innovation Council Info Day aims to promoting knowledge exchange within the innovation ecosystem, share insights, and explore the opportunities offered by the European Innovation Council. This event presented an opportunity to engage with representatives from the European Innovation Council, and be informed about available funding mechanisms, as well as establish connections with fellow innovators and stakeholders.
The European Innovation Council is the biggest innovation initiative of the European Union, with a budget of more than 10 billion euros.
The Council’s main programs are aimed at supporting Deep Tech companies and scaling up startups and SMEs. The European Innovation Council has invested in 12 unicorn companies so far.
