Prime Minister Pashinyan Presented the RA State Award for Global Investment in the IT Sector to Narayana Murthy
The 14th ceremony of awarding the State Award of the Republic of Armenia for global investment in the field of information technologies was held in the RA Government.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Chief of the Prime Minister's Office Arayik Harutyunyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, President of the Central Bank Martin Galstyan, President of "Synopsis Armenia" Yervand Zorian, and Director of "Synopsis Armenia" Hovik Musayelyan, who also chairs the annual educational awarding committee in the field of IT, among others.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the RA State Award for global investment in the field of information technologies to Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys Limited.
In his speech, the Prime Minister congratulated Narayana Murthy on receiving the RA State Award and expressed his gratification that such an award exists in the Republic of Armenia. According to Nikol Pashinyan, this award is a tribute of respect and appreciation to prominent figures who have made revolutionary contributions to the development of the technological sector.
"However, I think that this award ceremony is also important for the Republic of Armenia because I believe this award changes the way we look at the world and the way the world sees the Republic of Armenia. This is important in the context of the logic that we not only expect appreciation, sympathy, or encouragement from the world, but we can also offer appreciation and express our sympathy through such a prominent and distinguished award ceremony," the head of the country emphasized. He also added that this award ceremony is important for Armenia from another perspective.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, when presenting the award winners, and today, Mr. Murthy, the phrase "technological giant" is deservedly heard, and this is obviously the case, as today's event proves. The Prime Minister noted that, in the context of this award ceremony, presenting the award winners to the public should also highlight their biographies. "The most important feature here is that—pardon my words—they were not born as giants; they grew into giants and became individuals with groundbreaking achievements. Of course, it is assumed that initially, the Almighty has invested a specific destiny and plan in their lives and activities, but it is obvious that without hard work, education, and, clearly, failures, these successes could not have been achieved.
Why do I emphasize this? Because I hope that we are able, and will be able to use the opportunity of this award ceremony and the presence of the award winners to present the life stories of our honorable awardees, especially to our youth, the coming generation, and students," the Prime Minister noted. He added that the life stories of the awardees are not only worth knowing but contain significant energy and inspiration to provide an extra impetus, charge, and excitement to those who learn about them.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, one of the main motives for organizing this event is that it serves as an expression of appreciation for the paths these individuals have taken. He believes that recognizing their journeys can be inspiring not only for Armenian youth but also for the youth of any country. Mr. Murthy honors all of us, including the Republic of Armenia, and through this official event, we honor the achievements and contributions of our awardees, in this case, the honorable Mr. Murthy.
"Dear Mr. Murthy, once again, please accept our deepest respect and appreciation for your journey, your contribution to the technology industry, and your global impact."
In his remarks, Narayana Murthy thanked the Prime Minister for the high appreciation and emphasized that it was a great honor for him to receive the Republic of Armenia Award.
