The next stop of visits to telecommunication companies after Viva Armenia, Ucom, Team Telecom Armenia is Ovio: Mkhitar Haryapetyan visited the data processing center of Ovio
The Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Deputy Minister Gevorg Meliksetyan visited GNC Alfa on August 5. In May, 2024 the Company was rebranded, and henceforth operates under OVIO brand.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan accompanied by OVIO General Director Hayk Faramazyan, toured the Company's facilities and observed the recent quality improvements.
Hayk Faramazyan mentioned, that with recent changes the Company excels the level of classic telecommunications operator, transforming into a provider that offers digital and cloud services, and initiating a unified ecosystem of digital services.
The Minister was presented with the data processing center commissioned in May 2024, an ultra-modern facility featuring advanced technologies and international-level infrastructure, making it the first and largest of its kind in Armenia.
As the meeting progressed, the discussions focused on sector-specific reforms and the potential for employing innovative cable-laying solutions. Several issues raised by telecom sector representatives were addressed as well. In this regard, the Minister emphasized that those issues are in the Ministry's loop, and steps are taken to address the mentioned problems.
OVIO provides broadband Internet, smart TV, fixed telephony and a number of cloud services.
