Minister Robert Khachatryan received the Belgian Ambassador Eric De Muynck

Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Robert Khachatryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Armenia Eric De Muynck.

Minister Robert Khachatryan welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of starting the diplomatic mission in Armenia, and then presented the scope of the Ministry’s activities and the works being carried out in that direction.

The Ambassador thanked for the reception and noted that it is a big responsibility for him to be the first Belgian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia. The opening of the Embassy of Belgium in Armenia can create serious prerequisites for creating strong ties between the technological communities of the two countries and outlining prospects for cooperation.

During the meeting, details were presented about the infrastructure of Armenia’s high-tech industry, the activities of companies, and development prospects. The Minister spoke about the “Engineering City” project, the activities of the “Tumo” Center for Creative Technologies, the “Sevan Startup Summit”, the technological exhibitions held in Armenia, and the works carried out in the direction of technological education.

A number of other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Eric De Monck assured that within his mandate, he would take the necessary steps to establish and strengthen ties between Armenia and Belgium in the fields of activity of the Ministry.
