Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Highlights the Importance of Training Qualified Specialists in the Field: The Minister Visits Picsart Academy
On November 20, the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, accompanied by Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan, visited Picsart Academy, an educational institution established by the renowned Picsart company. The Academy specializes in training professionals in various technological fields and programming languages.
During the visit, representatives of Picsart Academy guided the Minister through the Academy's premises. He was introduced to the structure of the courses, their duration, effectiveness, and the employment opportunities available to graduates. It was noted that, in recent years, the Academy has launched numerous educational initiatives aimed at cultivating a new generation of high-quality specialists in Armenia's tech industry. According to the company’s representatives, the courses are highly sought after, reflecting the trust placed in the educational programs offered by the Academy. However, they highlighted that English proficiency among students remains a persistent challenge.
Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the significance of educational programs offered by prominent companies in the tech industry. He noted that combining practical training with exposure to the company’s activities and achievements serves as a critical motivator for students to delve deeper into their chosen fields. Addressing the issue of English language proficiency, the Minister assured that it remains a key area of focus for the Ministry.
The Minister also outlined legislative initiatives designed to facilitate the entry of new talent into the technological sector. He referenced the upcoming competition under the "Improvement of Practical Skills" component of the Ministry's "University-Private Sector Cooperation for the Training of Specialists" program. Additionally, he highlighted the "Capacity Development" component, which has enabled around 300 industry professionals to participate in training programs at various academic institutions.
In this context, opportunities for collaboration were discussed, and several agreements were reached to ensure continued progress in these efforts.
