Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Meets with H.E. Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency

On February 17, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with H.E. Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency, in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, Minister Hayrapetyan presented Armenia’s vision for the development of the space sector and the steps being taken to achieve it. In turn, Salem Al Qubaisi shared the UAE Space Agency’s experience in formation and development, highlighting key achievements and upcoming major projects.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and agreed to implement joint programs aimed at advancing space technologies and fostering scientific and technological progress for the benefit of both countries.

Particular emphasis was placed on potential collaboration in scientific research, experimental developments, and sectoral startups, as well as continued cooperation under the principles of the Artemis Accords—promoting the peaceful use of space and the development of innovative solutions to global challenges.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the UAE Karen Grigoryan, Director of Space Policy and International Relations at the UAE Space Agency Fatima Al Shamsi, and Senior Specialist for Strategic Partnerships at the UAE Space Agency Hasan Al Shehhi.
