The First Deputy Minister participated in the annual meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF)

On June 25-26, the First Deputy Minister of High Tech Industry of the RA Mr. Gevorg Mantashyan took part in the 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian, China.

The First Deputy Minister had a number of meetings with delegations of various states and international partners. Moreover, he led formal discussions on how to expand collaboration agenda in high technologies and presented the government agenda aimed at developing and advancing artificial intelligence in Armenia, as well as introduced the steps and initiatives performed in this field.

Within the framework of the event, on June 25, Gevorg Mantashyan participated in the "Dialogue on Digital Economy Agreement Leadership: DEAL" in company with Faisal Al-Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. In the Chatham house discussion "Future of Digital Economy Agreements" the participants referred to the perspectives and priorities of the global economy, emphasized the cooperation importance among political and business world leaders to address the existing challenges.

The First Deputy Minister met with Ashley Yao, Director of Dalian Hi-tech Zone, and Hu Fan, representative of the Zone. They discussed collaboration prospects in the area of innovation along with potential ways of promoting emergent ecosystems, as well as the STEM (science and mathematics) education, information and communication technologies (ICT).

On June 26, Mr. Mantashyan also met with Liu Lihong, Director of the National Data Administration (NDA) under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. Prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

In an official meeting with Cheng Yingjun, Director of Foreign Relations Office of Dalian Municipality, Ashwad Ismail, Head of Astro AWANI Company, Bon Poh Mok, Director of Salesforce Company, Jin Gu Wei, Vice Governor of People's Government of Liaoning Province, Gevorg Mantashyan discussed the prospects of bilateral sectoral cooperation and series issues of mutual interest.

The 15th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) was entitled "New Frontiers of Growth․" Over 1,500 delegates, entrepreneurs, media representatives, public and international organizations, experts from all over the world participated in the event, addressing the crucial challenges to the global agenda.
