Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan participates in the closing event of the first annual "AB Generation" program

In cooperation with the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Foundation for Science and Technology of Armenia (FAST) implements the "AB Generation" program in 15 high schools of 7 marzes of Armenia.

In an event held on June 25, the program outcomes of the 2023-2024 academic year were recapped, within the scope of which 350 students had an opportunity to learn and gain practical knowledge on artificial intelligence.

In his opening remarks the Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Ruben Simonyan welcomed the participants of the event, such as the schoolchildren, teachers and guests.

In addition to addressing the challenges of AB program, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence and role of primary education in the rapidly changing world. Moreover, Ruben Simonyan emphasized the necessity of transferring the skills of artificial intelligence parallel to education process, so that it does not hinder, but improves the better quality of life.

"As a liaising partner the Ministry of High Tech Industry undertakes to strengthen the efforts of our partners FAST Foundation and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Science, so that the AB education leans on a solid foundation in our country," mentioned Ruben Simonyan.

The Deputy Minister also visited the project expo of the schoolchildren attending the program, which was set up within the framework of the event.

It should also be noted that the RA Ministry of High Tech Industry and FAST Foundation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on November 20, 2023, for the purpose of promoting the artificial intelligence education in Armenia.

The Memorandum aims to ensure the development and implementation of educational programs on artificial intelligence, as well as the connection between academic companies. The MoC also seeks to build a generation of competitive and innovative specialists.
