   "Geocosmos" Closed Joint-Stock Company was founded in 2017. On November 16, 2016, by the RA Government Decree No. 1478-A.

   The company plays a key role in the development of Armenia’s space infrastructure and has been the country’s first licensed space activity operator since October 21, 2021.

    “Geocosmos” CJSC acquires both new and archival satellite imagery from its own satellites as well as from international partners. The company specializes in the creation of digital maps and continuous monitoring based on satellite data.

   The main areas of activity of “Geocosmos” CJSC are:

  • Acquisition of satellite imagery through Earth remote sensing in real time, using both its own ground receiving stations and those of other countries;
  • Acquisition and provision of new and archival satellite imagery;
  • Meeting the demands of various sectors - including agriculture, ecology and environmental protection, urban planning, land use and spatial management, cadastre, water resources management, emergency monitoring, energy, geology and geodesy, forestry, transport infrastructure, digital mapping, and others - through satellite imagery obtained via Earth remote sensing;
  • Photogrammetric work and image processing;
  • Maintenance, operation, and leasing of ground stations;
  • Operation of a satellite control center;
  • Preparation of mosaics, photoplans, and orthophotoplans for large areas;
  • Creation of digital terrain and elevation models;
  • Creation and updating of all types of scaled digital maps and plans based on satellite imagery, including cartographic work;
  • Conducting scientific research activities;
  • Provision of high-level geodetic and surveying services.

   “Geocosmos” CJSC maintains partnerships with leading organizations in the space sector, including national government authorities, private companies, and recognized international organizations from various countries. These collaborations promote cooperation between the private sector and investors, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and support the sustainable development of the field.
