Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Simonyan on a Study Visit to the United Kingdom

Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Simonyan was in London, United Kingdom, from April 27 to 30 for a study visit organized by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), within the framework of the program “Responding to the Threat of Corrupt Capital in Armenia: Strengthening Coordination between the Public and Private Sectors.”
The delegation also included representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, and Enterprise Armenia, as well as representatives of leading private sector organizations: the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham Armenia), the ACSES Analytical Center, and the Union of Businessmen and Manufacturers of Armenia.
Within the two-day program, the Armenian delegation met with a number of British governmental and non-governmental organizations to study the United Kingdom’s experience in investment control and economic security. Meetings were held with representatives of various departments of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Department for Business and Trade, members of the UK Parliament, and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
During the visit, the parties discussed opportunities to expand sectoral cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the potential to further develop bilateral relations, share expertise, launch mutually beneficial programs, and identify new areas of collaboration. Agreements were reached to continue discussions and take practical steps toward implementing joint programs aimed at sectoral development.
The visit took place within the framework of the United Kingdom’s international development agenda and was funded by the UK government.
