The Armenian Delegation Arrived in Sofia: Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria
On July 16, under the leadership of the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the Armenian delegation arrived in the Republic of Bulgaria to participate in the Ninth Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as to hold discussions and negotiations aimed at exploring and advancing potential areas of bilateral cooperation.
Within the framework of the working visit to Sofia, a bilateral meeting took place between the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry and Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georg Georgiev.
During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the centuries-old historical and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries, and the friendly relations formed on the basis of mutual respect and shared values.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in political, economic, high-tech, and other areas of mutual interest, and outlined new prospects for expanding their partnership.
They discussed the avenues for the development of bilateral relations, including in the context of cooperation with the European Union, as well as the new strategy of the EU Black Sea Region.
Minister Hayrapetyan presented Armenia’s progress in the field of high-tech industry and emphasized the country’s readiness to further deepen cooperation in this direction. The Minister also expressed gratitude to Bulgaria for hosting the next session of the Armenian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission.
Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, noted that Armenia is an important partner in the wider Black Sea region and stressed that achieving a safer and more stable environment depends on strengthening ties between Europe and Asia and building mutual trust. He reaffirmed Bulgaria’s readiness to share experience and expertise in supporting Armenia’s rapprochement with the European Union.
The bilateral meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan, and the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Bulgaria, Tsovinar Hambardzumyan.
