\"Neruzh 5.0\" Concludes: Winning Startups Announced

The fifth edition of the diaspora startup program "Neruzh 5.0," organized by the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, concluded on September 28 with an official closing ceremony. RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, delivered a speech at the event.

The Minister shared the history of “Neruzh” and emphasized that the program was created with the aim of redefining Armenia-Diaspora relations, centered around love and support for Armenia. He highlighted that the program seeks to bring the innovative ideas of the diaspora to Armenia, integrate them into the local economy, and turn these ideas into production processes that contribute to high-value, productive growth. The Minister noted that the longevity of “Neruzh” demonstrates its value in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

“Neruzh” is about channeling our collective dreams, technological expertise, and professional skills into Armenia. It strives to introduce cutting-edge startups, foster a fresh work culture, and strengthen the country’s innovative ecosystem," the Minister added.

The Minister also thanked everyone who took on leadership during the program and contributed to its establishment.

Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, also addressed the participants, emphasizing that the main goal of "Neruzh" is not just about participating and winning, but also about networking with people and professionals involved in the high-tech industry. He expressed his best wishes to the participants, confidently stating that "Neruzh" is fulfilling its purpose.

The official speeches were followed by an awards ceremony. Six startups were named as winners, each receiving grants to return to Armenia and carry out economic activities. The submitted ideas were evaluated in two categories: the "Idea Phase" and the "Growth Phase."

The jury’s evaluations for the “Idea Phase” revealed that the startup “Metacor” claimed the 1st place for its development of a new type of stent for blood vessels, arteries, and other hollow organs. “Sharper Software” took the 2nd place with its software that helps organizations turn their data into knowledge, while “Ayki” secured the 3rd place with its digital tool designed to enhance farm productivity.

In the “Growth Phase” category, “AnZoBio” earned the top spot for its personalized treatments and diagnostics for rare genetic disorders. “Moby”, offering instant 24/7 AI-based customer service, placed the 2nd, and “SleepDoctor” took the 3rd place with its holistic, lifetime sleep care software for doctors and patients.

At the conclusion of the event, souvenirs were presented to the jury members and program partners, including the "My Step" Foundation, the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, and "Plug and Play," an international accelerator. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, invited guests, and representatives from the tech community.

It is worth noting that 26 startups from 16 countries participated in "Neruzh 5.0." This year, the prestigious international accelerator "Plug and Play" was involved to help develop the capabilities of the startups. Over the course of the six-day program, the accelerator provided training and individual mentoring to participants.

"Neruzh" is a state program aimed at promoting Armenia's economic advancement, developing the startup ecosystem, and fostering professional repatriation by channeling pan-Armenian talent and expertise into the country's economic development.
