Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited Aragats military and defense equipment manufacturing Company

On July 31, the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited Aragats LLC military and defense equipment manufacturing company. Founded in 1992, Aragats currently specializes in military electronic device design and development and serial production.

Aragats CEO Hovhannes Gharibyan introduced the latest reforms and industrial volumes of the Company.

The thermal vision device for anti-tank Fagot system is completely designed and manufactured in the Company. The CEO noted that similar devices are manufactured in different countries, yet the Armenian one is not inferior to any of them and is about 4 times cheaper. Moreover, he emphasized that the product assortment of Aragats is fully in service by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, and the production volumes and manufacturing capability enable them to consider starting export as well.

Recruitment issue was discussed as well. It was noted, that the staff of the Company grew tenfold over the past ten years. Among the employees, there are highly qualified mechanics, electronics specialists, physicists and programmers. It was suggested to implement a joint project on engineering education.

As the meeting progressed, they discussed issues related to expanding industrial areas and building new infrastructures.  

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan expressed his support for building new infrastructures. He emphasized the projects aimed at constantly developing and enhancing the military-industrial area, which will create a greater value in this sector of the economy.

It is noteworthy, that since 2018, the funds provided for defense technology and scientific research have increased several times, due to which a number of Armenian companies of the military-industrial complex, including Aragats, expanded their scope of development and production.
