Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Attended the Opening Ceremony of Microchip Technology's New Office in Armenia

On March 3, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, participated in the opening ceremony of Microchip Technology’s fourth office in Armenia, a leading company in microelectronics design and development.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the opening of the new office, was conducted by Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Ani Safaryan, head of Microchip Technology’s Armenian office.
Congratulating those present on the opening of the new office, the Minister highlighted the importance of effective public-private cooperation in driving Armenia’s economic progress.
The Minister emphasized that the establishment of each new company in Armenia plays a crucial role in expanding production and research capabilities. He noted that long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation is key to sustaining growth and development.
“The expansion of Microchip Technology’s presence in Armenia’s regions aligns with our state policy. This approach is of strategic importance, and in the future, additional measures should be introduced to encourage transnational companies to operate not only in the capital but also in Armenia’s regions,” the Minister stated.
Shakil Pira, Vice President for Marketing, Strategy, and Client Application Solutions, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia for its cooperation, emphasizing its role in advancing the country’s high-tech sector.
During the event, Rajeev Jayaraman, Senior Director of Software and Engineering Solutions at Microchip Technology, also delivered a welcoming speech, acknowledging Armenia’s significant potential in the technology sector.
Additionally, Sargis Karapetyan, Chairman of UATE, and Vahagn Poghosyan, Co-Founder of Instigate CJSC, delivered remarks, highlighting the importance of Microchip Technology’s presence in Armenia.
Following the speeches, participants toured the newly opened office, familiarized themselves with the working environment, and engaged with employees.
The official ceremony was followed by a closed discussion, during which Microchip Technology’s activities in Armenia, upcoming programs, and strategic vision were presented. Cooperation prospects were discussed, and an agreement was reached to hold ongoing discussions on joint initiatives. The possibility of launching production in Armenia was also explored.
In addition to the key participants, the event was attended by government officials, community leaders, and prominent figures from the technology industry.
