RA MHTI Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan attended the opening ceremony of the conference \"EDA Connect 2025: Bridging Industry and Academia\"

Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Simonyan participated and delivered a welcoming remark at the opening ceremony of the “EDA Connect 2025: Bridging Industry and Academia” conference, held in Yerevan on March 13-14, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor design, and industry.
Ruben Simonyan, welcoming the guests to Armenia, noted that the “EDA Connect 2025: Bridging Industry and Academia” conference creates an opportunity to unite industry leaders, innovators, scientists, and engineers to exchange experience and knowledge, discuss and find new opportunities, explore challenges, and shape the future of electronic system design.
Referring to the fact that participants from various countries, universities, research institutes, and leading companies attended the conference, Simonyan highlighted the importance of active involvement in discussions and exploring new cooperation opportunities.
President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA), Academician Ashot Saghyan, also delivered a welcoming speech.
“EDA is essential for the development of modern technologies. The advancement of these technologies is crucial for both scientific research and industrial applications, ensuring competitiveness in the global market. As electronic systems become increasingly complex, our joint efforts in design automation, optimization, and cutting-edge technologies are vital for fostering innovation and shaping the future of digital design,” Saghyan specifically noted in his speech.
Following this, the main session of the conference then took place, the speakers of which were Sedrak Sargsyan, Director of Engineering at Siemens Digital Industries Software, Tigran Sargsyan, Director of Research and Development Engineering at Synopsys Inc., as well as other prominent speakers from the industry from international companies.
The initiative, organized by the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA and supported by the Armenian-Russian University, Yerevan State University, and other institutions, aims to promote research, collaboration, and innovation in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), establishing it as a strategic priority for the scientific and technological development of Armenia.
As part of the conference, a Hackathon will be held on March 14, where participants will apply their SystemVerilog knowledge to create projects, and the best projects will be awarded prizes.
