The Cybersecurity Hackathon Concludes: The 3 Teams with the Best Results Have Been Awarded

Within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian Information Systems Agency, the Cybersecurity Hackathon held on July 9–11 has concluded. The event brought together around 65 specialists from government agencies, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, and critical service providers.

The first prize was awarded to the Access Denied team, which received 2.5 million AMD. The second place went to the Number 1 team, and the third place to HackShield, who received 1.5 million and 1 million AMD respectively, for presenting the best solutions in the fields of data protection, countering cyber attacks, enhancing network security, and early detection of threats among 10 competing teams.

Hayk Engibaryan, Head of the Programs Department of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, congratulated the participants and emphasized that the Ministry attaches great importance to developing the capacities of highly qualified professionals in the field of information security and cybersecurity. He noted that the Cybersecurity Hackathon, organized for the first time within the framework of the Skills Enhancement in Practice program, plays a key role in strengthening resilience against cyber threats and challenges.

Arshak Kerobyan, Head of the Digitalization Department of the Ministry, also addressed congratulatory remarks to the participants. He stressed that since cyber threats are networked in nature, the efforts to counter them should also be networked, uniting the sector’s capacities and creating a secure online environment together.

Shant Kasardjian, Director of Cybersecurity at the Information Systems Agency, congratulated both the organizers and the participants and called on everyone to continuously learn, improve, and apply their skills in practice.

The goal of the event was to strengthen the capacities and preparedness of specialists in the field of information security and cybersecurity to withstand cyber threats and challenges and to promote cooperation among critical infrastructures to enhance resilience in responding to cyber incidents.
