The State Nonprofit Organization “National Center for Information Security and Cryptography” (hereinafter referred to as the “Organization”) was established pursuant to Decree No. 355-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated March 14, 2024, and operates under the authority of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia.
The primary objective of the Organization is to support the authorized bodies responsible for the development of the state policy of the Republic of Armenia in the field of information security and for the coordination of information security activities, with a view to ensuring the security of e-governance systems and information exchange processes within state bodies.
Within the scope of its mandate, the Organization carries out:
- the development of standards and methodological guidelines in the field of information security,
- the organization of professional training and capacity-building programs,
- the development of technical and hardware-software solutions,
- the conduct of scientific research and applied studies in the field of information security.
For the purpose of ensuring the security of e-governance systems and information exchange processes, the Organization cooperates with state bodies, including the designated coordinating authority, as well as with sectoral (competent) organizations.
The activities of the Organization are aimed at establishing unified approaches in the field of information security in the Republic of Armenia, enhancing the resilience and protection of state systems, and ensuring the sustainable and reliable development of the digital environment.
