Armenia provides favorable conditions for Veeam Software: Mkhitar Hayrapetyan gained insight into priorities of the Company
On July 25, the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan with Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan visited the Veeam Software Armenian Office, one of the global leaders in the field.
Accompanied by Tim Pfaelzer, General Manager and Senior Vice President EMEA, Karine Miaux, Senior Executive Assistant to General Manager and SVP EMEA, and HR Manager Armine Karakhanyan, the Minister toured the Company, gained insight into the working environment and ongoing projects.
While introducing the scope of activities, Tim Pfaelzer noted that Veeam Software is engaged in developing data backup, recovery and security. Established in 2006, the Company has over 4,500 employees and customers from nearly 180 countries. Annual sales has exceeded $1 billion in recent years. The Company works together with popular companies such as Microsoft, AWS, IBM, NutaniX, Dell EMC, Microsoft Azure, Lenovo, Quantum, Fujitsu, etc.
During the visit, various prospects of public-private partnership were discussed. It was agreed to continue the initiated discussion and adopt practical steps towards the future cooperation.
Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized that the Ministry of High-Tech Industry endeavors to support the sector and create productive working conditions for companies in Armenia. Veeam Software's representatives, in return, emphasized that Armenia is a decent country for developing the Company and attracting new talents. Moreover, the interlocutors touched upon the Company's problems, possible solutions, and the anticipated support from the Ministry.
Veeam Software is represented in more than 35 countries. It was noted that the Armenian Office is one of the largest and has over 200 employees. Veeam Armenia commenced operations in Armenia in 2022. It is worth to state, that in 2023, Veeam Armenia topped the list of the largest taxpayers in Armenia in the IT sector. Moreover, as reported by data of 2024 first quarter, the Company was included in the list of Armenian 20 largest taxpayers in the IT sector.
