Sevan Startup Summit 2025 to Receive Government Co-Funding. HTI Minister of Provides Details at Press Conference

On April 16, a press conference was held at AI9 Startup Campus regarding Sevan Startup Summit 2025. Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Co-Founder of the Startup Armenia Scientific and Educational Foundation Hakob Hakobyan presented key details about the upcoming event.
According to a decision adopted during the April 10 session of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, AMD 200 million will be allocated to the Startup Armenia Scientific and Educational Foundation for organizing Sevan Startup Summit 2025, scheduled for July 20–26, 2025. Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the Government's strong commitment to supporting innovation and the development of the startup ecosystem, highlighting the importance of Sevan Startup Summit.
"We emphasize our commitment to developing non-raw-material sectors of the economy, particularly those that generate high added value, drive productivity, and stimulate structural transformation. In this context, we place significant importance on supporting startups, which are among the most dynamic, flexible, fast-growing, and high-potential types of businesses. I am confident that Sevan Startup Summit is a high-impact initiative for the growth of Armenia's startup ecosystem, with strong potential to evolve into a global brand and be exported to other countries," the Minister noted.
According to Hakob Hakobyan, Co-Founder of the Startup Armenia Scientific and Educational Foundation, this year, with the Government’s co-financing, the Summit will feature 8 major sector-specific events, making it an exclusive and unprecedented platform.
"Sevan Startup Summit is one of the key elements of Armenia’s startup ecosystem. It has successfully expanded its presence internationally, becoming a globally recognized brand. We have a clearly defined agenda for long-term cooperation with the Governments of India and the United Arab Emirates, where the summit is already held annually. We also have established paths for collaboration in Hungary, Spain, Croatia, the USA, and Australia. We are confident that these initiatives will come to life with the continued support of the Government and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry," said Hakob Hakobyan.
He added that the 2025 Summit is expected to welcome around 15,000 visitors from July 20 to 26, with approximately 2,000 people residing in the tented camp.
To date, Sevan Startup Summit has hosted over 50,000 participants and guests from around 60 countries. The event has played a vital role in shaping and developing Armenia's startup ecosystem, attracting numerous representatives from international startup communities who have brought with them a global culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
