RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited the Armenian office of Cisco Systems. He was accompanied by Arsen Manukyan, Director of Engineering at Cisco Armenia, who led the tour of the company’s facilities and provided an overview of its operations, ongoing engineering and research initiatives, future programs, and current challenges.
During the visit, Minister Hayrapetyan outlined the Armenian Government’s support programs and initiatives aimed at fostering development in the high-tech sector. He emphasized the importance of sustained and long-term investment as a key factor in driving growth and innovation.
Arsen Manukyan highlighted the company’s achievements, particularly the high quality of products developed by the Armenian office. He underscored the team's capabilities in advanced semiconductor design using cutting-edge global tools and technologies. He also noted the contributions of various engineering teams to Cisco’s global operations, which have led to steady growth in both staffing and activity in the Armenian market.
The meeting also included a presentation on the establishment and activities of the Integrated Circuits Design and Modeling educational and research laboratory at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA), created in collaboration with Cadence.
Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Ruben Simonyan, CEO of the Investment Support Center Gohar Abajyan, and Head of Equipment Engineering at Cisco Systems Vahe Yeghiazaryan also took part in the visit.
Cisco Systems Armenia is a branch of the global Cisco Systems, focusing on the research and design of integrated circuits. The local team is engaged in the complete ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) design process—from RTL (Register Transfer Level) design to physical implementation and tape-out.
