New Stamp Commemorates the 75th Birthday of Renowned Armenian Philanthropist and Businessman Hrant Vardanyan: Gevorg Meliksetyan Attends the Stamp Redemption Ceremony
On September 30, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Meliksetyan, attended the official stamp redemption ceremony marking the 75th birthday of Hrant Vardanyan.
In his opening remarks, Meliksetyan highlighted the significant contributions of Hrant Vardanyan, the celebrated Armenian businessman and philanthropist. He emphasized Vardanyan's remarkable impact on the economic development of the Republic of Armenia, his enduring contributions as a businessman, philanthropist, and candidate of economic sciences, and his recognition as a meritorious worker of the Armenian economy. Meliksetyan also praised Vardanyan's charitable work, which had a lasting influence on the country's industrial progress.
Under Vardanyan’s patronage, numerous scientific, educational, cultural, and healthcare projects were implemented, including the renovation of many gymnasiums. Deeply committed to nurturing the younger generation with national values, Vardanyan also founded the "Hayrenik" children's charity TV channel. His charitable endeavors extended to Tavush region, Armenia, where he supported several large-scale projects in border villages, contributing to the communities' socio-economic development and creating new employment opportunities. "This stamp honors the legacy of Hrant Vardanyan once again," Meliksetyan stated.
The stamp redemption was conducted by Deputy Minister Meliksetyan, CEO of "Haypost" Arman Abrahamyan, Chairmen of "Grand Holding" Mikael and Karen Vardanyan, and President of the Armenian Association of Philatelists Hovik Musayelyan.
Hrant Vardanyan (1949–2014), an Armenian businessman, philanthropist, and meritorious worker of the economy of the Republic of Armenia, made significant contributions to the development, progress, and strengthening of the Armenian economy, the creation of thousands of jobs, and the promotion of Armenian products. He is depicted on the stamp, which has a nominal value of 1,000 AMD.
The inscription "HRANT VARDANYAN" appears on the stamp in both Armenian and English.
