Mkhitar Hayrapetyan attends inauguration ceremony of National Supercomputing Center in Armenia
Armenia's first supercomputing facility was officially inaugurated in Engineering City, Yerevan on May 31.
The RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan attended the opening ceremony of the Supercomputing Center.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan welcomed the event participants and stated that the National Supercomputing Center is a brilliant example of shared efforts of state and the private sector, including international partners to achieve remarkable results.
"I believe that this project will stimulate competitiveness of the Armenian economy by developing innovative solutions in high-performance computing system, cloud computing, big data analysis, as well as research in AI," the Minister noted.
Hakob Arshakyan, Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Carolin Geginat, Country Manager of the World Bank for Armenia, H.E. Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Armenia, and Chip Laitinen, US Deputy Ambassador to Armenia came up with welcome remarks.
Named after the legendary singer of Armenian ancestry Charles Aznavour, the Armenian National Supercomputing Center is to lead advancements in high-performance computing and data management techniques in diverse sectors.
