MIC Key Indicators for 2024 Presented to NA Committee; Various Issues Related to Sector Development Discussed

Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Chairman of the Military Industry Committee Aram Jivanyan presented the MIC’s key indicators for 2024 and Aram Jivanyan's 100-day activities in office to the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Issues. They addressed achievements, ongoing and planned initiatives, periodic reforms aimed at sectoral development, as well as existing gaps and oversights, along with strategies to address them.
During the closed-door discussion, Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan reviewed the activities of 2023-2024 in comparison, emphasizing the military-industrial complex’s budget performance over the two years. Various options and opportunities for improving efficiency and achieving higher performance indicators were discussed.
The Chairman of the Committee, Andranik Kocharyan, underscored the importance of enhancing both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of domestic military production, stressing the need to support manufacturers and maintain close cooperation with them. The Committee welcomed the introduction of institutional programs and mechanisms that foster technological progress and innovation in the implementation of sectoral policy.
A number of issues related to the development of the military industry were discussed. Additionally, tasks for 2025 were outlined, with an emphasis on integrating scientific advancements.
