MHTI Minister attends the graduation ceremony of the Quanta Master's Program
On September 16, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, attended the graduation ceremony for the first cohort of students who completed the 1.5-year Master's program in "Quantum and Mesoscopic Physics."
In his congratulatory remarks, Minister Hayrapetyan highlighted the significance of the program, stating that the most vital pillar of the Republic of Armenia is its people—those who live, create, and contribute to the country's progress. He also touched on the potential of the global Armenian community, emphasizing that it can be united around the vision of strengthening Armenia’s statehood.
"With this philosophy in mind, the Foundation has begun concentrating resources to enhance this valuable human capital, aiming to make significant investments in fostering new knowledge, professional abilities, and skills," the Minister noted. He further stressed that the objective of the "Quanta" program is to bring this vision to life by offering opportunities in cutting-edge technology for the future.
When discussing the importance of quantum technologies, Minister Hayrapetyan particularly emphasized the power of innovation, driven by the human mind. He pointed out that the efforts of recent years have made a profound impact on this field, as individuals with advanced knowledge and expertise will shape Armenia's future. Hayrapetyan underscored that the success of this program demonstrates that when there is a strategic and well-executed approach, backed by a qualified scientific team, high-quality educational programs will always meet the demand.
The Minister expressed his best wishes for the continued success of the Quanta program. He extended congratulations to the graduates and voiced confidence that they will achieve great success in the quantum field, using their acquired knowledge and skills to strengthen Armenia’s economy.
Graduation diplomas were presented by Anna Hakobyan, the Prime Minister’s wife and Executive Director of the My Step Charitable Foundation, along with Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry, and Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
The program was developed and brought to life through the efforts of Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Gevorg Meliksetyan, and Hayk Sargsyan. My Step Charitable Foundation also established the international scientific and educational institution, the All-Armenian Center of Excellence, to implement the Quantum and Mesoscopic Physics Master’s program.
The goal of the program is to train highly qualified specialists capable of addressing challenges in the military industry, contributing to national security, and applying their expertise in private sector companies. Graduates are encouraged to pursue scientific research, establish startups, and potentially develop them into domestic technology companies.
During the 2022-2024 academic years, the Center hosted 10 lecturers from abroad and 7 lecturers from Armenian universities. Currently, the Center has 10 graduates and 11 students.
Starting in the 2025 academic year, the My Step Charitable Foundation will collaborate with the Institute of Physics at Yerevan State University to offer the Master’s program jointly.
