Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Attends Opening of New Television Studio at Armenian Public TV
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, attended the inauguration of a new television studio of the Armenian Public Television Company, part of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation project under the Implementation Agreement signed by the Governments of Armenia and the People's Republic of China.
In his address, Minister Hayrapetyan thanked the Chinese Government for its significant support to Armenian Public TV, emphasizing that the collaboration exemplifies the amicable Armenian-Chinese relationship. He underscored the importance of such initiatives for the RA Government's long-term digital transformation strategy, noting their role in enhancing production capacities in the information sector.
"This is not just about constructing infrastructure, but about introducing innovative ideas, new technologies, and digital solutions. I congratulate the Public Television Company for realizing such an important program," the Minister added.
Chen Min, Chargé d'Affaires of the People's Republic of China in Armenia, also spoke at the event. On behalf of the Chinese embassy, he congratulated attendees on the project's launch, praising the strong development of Armenian-Chinese amicable relations and their jointly implemented programs. "China views Armenia as a good friend and partner. I am confident that this new studio will be a symbolic outcome of our collaboration, contributing to Armenia’s information resources, improving quality of life, and enriching practical cooperation," he said.
Hovhannes Movsisyan, Executive Director of the Public Television Company, expressed gratitude to both governments, highlighting that this project represents the largest investment in Armenian Public Television in the post-independence era. Ara Shirinyan, Chairman of the Council of Public Broadcaster, also spoke at the ceremony.
Following the speeches, representatives from Armenia and China placed a capsule containing the Implementation Agreement at the foundation of the new building, marking the official start of large-scale construction. The studio, the largest since Armenia's independence, will cover 7,128 square meters, with a 3,210 square meter building to be constructed.
