Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan Highlights Launch of Ucom’s New UPlay Platform with Modern Digital Solutions

On April 15, Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan participated in the launch event of an innovative television (TV) and media platform, implemented as part of Ucom’s digital transformation program.

Highlighting the platform’s launch and its incorporation of modern digital solutions, Minister Hayrapetyan noted: “Armenia has adopted a nationwide strategy for digital transformation, one that cannot succeed without the active involvement of the private sector.

Technological progress today is no longer just a tool. It is an environment where education, the economy, culture, and public services take shape. Digital solutions have long transcended sectoral boundaries and now impact almost every aspect of our lives.

As a state, we aim to foster an environment in which digital solutions become widespread and accessible. The “Transforming the Future: The Digital Age of Entertainment” initiative is a vivid example of this. We are witnessing a phase where digital technologies not only meet the demands of the modern world but also set new standards. The launch of this platform is not only a symbol of technological advancement but also a decisive step toward positioning Armenia as a regional leader in the digital space.

The new UPlay TV and media platform features a modern and intuitive interface. With a single user account, the service can be used on up to five devices simultaneously, while the

“Continuous View” function allows seamless switching between devices without interrupting viewing.

Thanks to its new OTT solution, the platform is accessible even in areas where Ucom’s fixed internet network is not available.

The platform was developed in collaboration with MediaKind, a global leader in media and streaming technologies.

It is also noteworthy that Ucom has already launched 5G technology in 28 regional cities across Armenia.
