Armenia Signs the NASA\'s Artemis Accords
Armenia became the 43rd signatory to the Artemis Accords on June 12 at a ceremony at NASA Headquarters. The RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan represented Armenia. H.E. Lilit Makunts Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America was present in the ceremony as well.
In his opening speech, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, cordially welcomed Armenia's decision to join the Artemis Accords, highlighting Armenia's great achievements in science, space exploration, and astronomy.
Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized the long-standing relationship between Armenia and the United States and noted that this development upgraded the collaboration level between the two countries in science, particularly space exploration.
"Demanding times make us seek new opportunities and innovative solutions. We direct our gaze into space, that has no boundaries. It can increase our chances of dreaming big and having those dreams come true. By joining this initiative where man can land on the Moon and journey beyond, Armenia became a member of the large space family of sustainable and peaceful exploration," Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said.
