Cooperation Prospects in the Technological Sector Discussed with Newly Appointed Honorary Consul of Armenia in Singapore

On January 9, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Mantashyan, received Cheng Tim Jin, the newly appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Singapore.

The First Deputy Minister outlined the programs and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry (MHTI), highlighting key efforts in digitalization, cybersecurity, telecommunications, defense technologies, artificial intelligence, postal services, and several other areas.

Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Honorary Consul Cheng Tim Jin noted that he was highly impressed by Armenia’s achievements in the high-tech industry. He also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening technological cooperation between Armenia and Singapore. In this regard, he proposed exploring potential partnerships between sectoral companies of both countries, including startups.

Gevorg Mantashyan emphasized that Singapore’s remarkable advancements in the high-tech sector serve as a valuable model for Armenia. He highlighted that Singapore’s experience could be exemplary in supporting Armenia’s IT sector development, which remains a key priority for the Armenian Government.
