Representatives of Leading French AI Company Mistral AI Arrive in Armenia

Today, the First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Mantashyan, a workshop was held with representatives from Mistral AI, a globally recognized French company in the field of artificial intelligence. The event was held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for the Transformation of Public Administration.”

The workshop brought together senior officials from various Armenian state agencies, as well as key stakeholders from the technology and innovation sectors.

The primary goal of the workshop was to offer strategic insights into the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within the Government of Armenia and broader national development efforts. Discussions focused on practical applications of AI in governance, the economy, and national security, and explored frameworks for policymaking and pilot implementation of AI-driven projects.

Participants discussed global trends in AI, including machine learning, automation, digital governance, cybersecurity, and economic growth. The workshop featured case studies on how leading governments leverage AI to enhance public administration and civil services. Special attention was given to the use of AI in fraud detection and anomaly identification in public procurement and financial transactions, as well as smart data management, justice, healthcare, and social services.

It is worth noting that on February 10, 2025, an agreement was signed in Paris between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and Mistral AI. The agreement aims to strengthen Armenia's AI infrastructure, support AI-based business solutions, and enhance public administration through the AI-powered GovTech program, drawing on Mistral AI’s expertise in both commercial and open-source technologies.

As part of this cooperation, Mistral AI will apply its advanced experience in Armenia by conducting specialized training programs and offering tailored AI solutions aligned with the country’s development priorities.
