Breaking the fears from artificial intelligence, Armenia can be competitive all over the world. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan
On February 2, the "AI for Business" conference was held in Yerevan, which aimed to bring together representatives of the business community, innovative thinkers and experts in the field of AI to explore cutting-edge artificial intelligence strategies.
Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, in his welcoming speech, referred to the dispute on AI in recent years, both in Armenia and around the world, and the fears that AI tools may become competitors to people and replace them over time. The minister proposed to stop this dispute and think about using AI tools effectively and integrate in different spheres of economy.
“Conferences like this are important to understand what are the most effective ways of integrating AI tools. These fears have existed at various stages of technological revolutions, they are not a new phenomenon and are typical to humans. I suggest to look ahead. Nations that think long about it will lag behind the development of the whole world. Therefore, for exponential growth, we need several times faster decisions and actions. I can not imagine the leapfrog growth in any other way than through artificial intelligence and new technological solutions.
I am sure that by breaking these fears, Armenia will be competitive in the world. It is only in this way Armenia can become an ambitious country and have its significant role in the world, offering new solutions, which in its turn will transform the world's attitude towards Armenia in general, and towards Armenian specialists particularly", the Мinister said.
Vice President of the National Assembly of the RA Hakob Arshakyan, RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, Chairman of Central Bank of the RA Martin Galstyan also made speeches.
Paolo Pirjanyan, creator of the Moxi robot, founder and executive director of “Embodied” company, Leonid Kirakosyan, partner of “McKinsey & Company” consulting firm and Davit Yan, founder of “ABBY” were among the speakers of the conference. The speeches were followed by a panel discussion on the topic "Using AI in Traditional Business".
