Technology Community Representatives Explore COP17 Infrastructure and Armenia’s National Pavilion
October 31, 2026
On October 31, 2026, at the initiative of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia, leaders of technology companies and member organizations of industry associations visited the COP17 Blue Zone, designated for official delegations, and Armenia’s national pavilion.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by representatives of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), the Union of ICT Employers, the Engineering Association and Startup Armenia, who joined the visit.
Accompanied by Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence Gevorg Mantashyan, participants toured the entire conference venue, learning about its organizational arrangements, infrastructure, technical capabilities and facilities for hosting events.
One of the objectives of the visit was to introduce the technology community to the scope and scale of the work undertaken by the Government of Armenia, particularly the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, to organize the conference, as well as the potential for future use of the facilities.
The tour included a special visit to Armenia’s national pavilion in the COP17 Blue Zone, where participants explored its concept, content and exhibitions. The pavilion was highly praised by all participants.
Armenia’s national pavilion serves as an important platform for presenting the country’s natural, historical and cultural wealth and national identity to the international community. Its displays showcase Armenia’s landscapes, wildlife, water resources, and historical and cultural heritage. In particular, the exhibitions feature the Symphony of Stones, the historic stones of Zvartnots and Lake Sevan. Replicas of the original features and artifacts offer visitors a vivid introduction to Armenia’s natural and cultural heritage.
Participants also learned about the work involved in creating the national pavilion and the approaches used to design and organize its exhibitions. The visit highlighted opportunities to promote natural and cultural heritage through contemporary presentation methods and innovative solutions.
Since November 2024, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia has been involved, within the scope of its mandate, in the interagency efforts to organize COP17.
During the visit, participants discussed prospects for using the conference venue and infrastructure for major technology events regularly held in Armenia and other international initiatives. They emphasized that the pavilion’s experience could inform the development of more engaging formats that present Armenia’s technological potential alongside its cultural heritage and national identity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, wishes for success were extended to the organizers of the Silicon Mountains Summit & Expo, scheduled for November 3–4, and the DigiTec exhibition, to be held on November 20–23 at the same venue used for COP17.
The initiative aims to broaden the technology community’s engagement, share experience in organizing international events and identify new opportunities for cooperation in Armenia.
