On September 16, upon the initiative of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia, a ceremonial event was held, dedicated to the achievements of Armenian high school students who successfully performed at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI).

Tatev Aslanyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia, delivered welcoming remarks at the event. The Deputy Minister valued the successes registered by Armenian youth and the high level of preparation demonstrated on the international platform, emphasizing the state's commitment to continuously encouraging the professional development of young people and promoting interest in artificial intelligence, high technologies, and STEM directions.

Anna Babajanyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, also delivered welcoming remarks.

Within the framework of the event, Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence, presented one of the Ministry's strategic initiatives: the AI Virtual Institute project, highlighting its key role in establishing a support ecosystem for AI innovators in Armenia, consolidating research potential, and preparing competitive specialists in the high-tech sector.

The meeting continued with a panel discussion dedicated to the preparation works, achievements, and results registered by Armenian high school students at the IOAI. The participating students presented the preparation process, talked about the experience gained during participation in Olympiads in previous years, and touched upon the significance of Olympiads and particularly the International AI Olympiad from the perspective of raising Armenia's technological potential and the country's international visibility, as well as demonstrating their own knowledge and skills in international competitive platforms. The students also shared their future plans and professional interests.

The meeting was attended by high school students who registered high results in natural science and technological subject Olympiads (Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology), as well as representatives of the technological sector, state structures, and the educational community.

Armenian students are participating in the International AI Olympiad for the second consecutive year, the national organizer of which is the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST).

Following their debut registered in China in 2025, Armenian students returned this year from Astana with 2 bronze medals won in individual competition, while in the team standings, one of Armenia's teams took 5th place in competition with representatives from 131 countries of the world.
