New opportunities for AI applications in Healthcare and Education discussed with OpenAI representatives

On September 28, Deputy Ministers of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan and Tatev Aslanyan received representatives of OpenAI. The meeting was also attended by Avet Manukyan, CEO of the National e-Health Operator CJSC, which operates the “ArMed” electronic healthcare system.

The participants discussed the risks and opportunities associated with the application of artificial AI in the healthcare and education sectors, as well as prospects for the introduction and development of innovative technological solutions.

In particular, the meeting addressed the potential use of AI-powered tools by healthcare organizations, physicians, and citizens, as well as the risks and prospects of integrating AI solutions into Armenia’s existing digital healthcare infrastructure, including the “ArMed” system. In this context, the importance of data security, personal data protection, and compliance with legal requirements was emphasized.

Potential areas of cooperation aimed at establishing a safe and controlled digital environment in the healthcare sector were also discussed.

Representatives of OpenAI presented the company’s international experience in the healthcare and education sectors, as well as the outcomes of applying relevant AI tools.

Particular attention was paid to the safe expansion of AI applications in Armenia’s education sector, including opportunities for developing educational programs and adopting international best practices in the use of AI.
