On May 29-31, Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA took part in the 9th e-Governance Conference Digital Innovations as a Catalyst for Social Change held in Estonia.

During the Conference, a number of topics related to the digital transformation of the economy, society and public administration in different states were discussed. Panel discussions were held on the importance of digital technologies in economic development, the need for capacity building and innovation promotion.

Gevorg Mantashyan took part in the panel discussion “How digital innovation boosts social and economic change”, presented the initiatives implemented within the framework of Armenia’s digitalization strategy for 2021-2025, programs for the development of a high-tech ecosystem, the main priorities and problems of the sector. The First Deputy Minister also mentioned Armenia’s experience in the process of promoting and developing innovations.

During the visit, Gevorg Mantashyan met with the Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology Tiit Riisalo and Deputy Minister Sille Kraam.

During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in January 2023 between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the RA and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Estonia on cooperation in the field of new technologies were considered, issues related to the agenda of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

At the meeting with Hannes Astok, Executive Director of the Estonian e-Government Academy, issues related to technological education, cooperation in the field of e-government, exchange of experience were discussed.
Gevorg Mantashyan also visited the government of the Republic of Estonia, where he got acquainted with the work carried out in the direction of e-governance, Estonia’s experience in the field of digital services and digital governance.

During the visit, the First Deputy Minister held a number of meetings with heads and representatives of delegations from various states participating in the event.

The 9th e-Government Conference “Digital Innovation as a Catalyst for Social Change” was organized by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Information Technology, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Estonian e-Government Academy.
